never been disappointed.
i have probably said this before (especially if you really know me). but, i feel i’ve never worked harder before in my life. maybe it’s cuz i’m getting older. maybe i expect more. who knows.
but it’s true. i really put my heart out there. & now I am ready to have some fun this summer! pictures will come soon to explain a little more of what i have been up to. but, to give a little hint, it was a labour of love for prAna, design, color, home interiors, visual arts, exploring the inner creative… overall, a fun and worthwhile project.
…& on to other things. catalina is slowing creeping upon us. (barrett and i, that is). i think we keep making our trip earlier and earlier each year. that is probably for a good reason. we just cannot wait a full 12 months before the return. it calls us. unbelievable, the ‘pull’ this island has on us. like a tidal reaction. i cannot believe i never even knew of this place until a few years ago. it’s like being in the mediterranean. true crystal blue water & beauty, so close to the california coast.
ahhh. now, the early summer months are gone. really, the true summer for us is just beginning. just yesterday it was May, even April. The chickens (now coined ‘Dragons’ … and very appropriately, by Barrett … ) are now laying. the water warmed up to the 70’s. WOW. the house never cools down (true sign of the eternal summer with no a/c). and the rare funky heirloom tomato shines vibrant red in the sea of our garden green. thank goodness. i was needing some freshness.
i keep glancing at the title of this post, and am so excited just for ‘summer’. it’s here! never disappointing. always fun, just pure fun. the occasional skunk-catching keeps us on our toes. & we love being outside and living IN IT. monday was my first real day of summer (back from traveling, working long days, waaaah, boo hoo. not really that bad! who am i to complain! i am overtly thankful for the hard work and everyone whom knows me, knows that i thrive on the thrill of a challenge. but. it didn’t take me long (3 days to be exact)….to find a new project. the squall.
here she is. tomorrow, it is all about her. bolivar (we think that is her new name). barrett is so kind to drop me in the water all by myself so i can ‘realize’ somewhere in south bay. i’ll let you know how it goes.
cheers to new projects, be them fun…& more fun!
